The Singapore Women's National 7s team look to cut their 7s training squad to 15 players this weekend in preparation for the 11th Cable & Wireless HK Women's Rugby Sevens.
With players over the age of 26 excluded from this year's HK-bound squad, spots are up for contention by some younger players.
Neither New Zealand's Aotearoa Maori (10 times champions) nor Australia (who came in runner'sup last year) will be taking part this year which blows the competition wide open.
Canada will prove to be Singapore's toughest match in their pool with the bulk of fellow Asian countries in Pool C.
Pool A: USA, Hong Kong and Netherlands.
Pool B: Kazakhstan, Fiji, France.
Pool C: China. Thailand, Japan.
Pool D: Canada, Singapore, Arabian Gulf.
