23 March 2010The Singapore Women's National 7s Team faces a tough draw and an early start in Pool A at the Hong Kong Women's 7s 2010.
The republic will meet the Arabian Gulf followed by the Australian Amazons, which is captained by Women's Rugby World Cup winning captain, Cheryl Soon in Pool A. In the pool B, Bowl Winners at last years Women's Rugby 7s World Cup, China meet Malaysia and Papua New Guinea. In pool C, the battle is on between Hong Kong, Japan and Thailand. And in the final pool, which has been dubbed the "group of death", the five times cup champions of the Hong Kong event, the NZ Aotearoa Maori women face Kazakhstan and Tuks from South Africa.
The top 2 in each pool will progress to the Cup quarterfinals and the last in each pool will go straight to the Bowl Finals.
The Singapore Women's National 7s team departs for Hong Kong on Thursday and will play Arabian Gulf at 730am on Friday.
