The Singapore Women's 7s Team overcame the South African Tuks in Bowls Semifinals and came in Bowl Runners Up in the Hong Kong Women's Rugby 7s 2010 over the weekend.

Drawn in a tough pool, Singapore bettered last year's performance against the Arabian Gulf 17-26 but were not able to manage their only chance at win in the pool stages to qualify for the cup quarter finals. The republic's second game in pool game against Australia was a one-sided affair with the eventual cup winners displaying their dominance throughout the tournament.

Singapore faced a tough match up against the third placed team, the South African Tuks, from the "group of death". Earlier, the SA Tuks, which were powered by seven players from the South African national team, had challenged Kazakhstan well in their 12-24 loss.

Singapore showed grit and composure in the physical affair and kept the ball well. Rebecca Lewis ran the short side to put the republic ahead at half time. In the second half, a quick penalty resulted in the Singapore's second try from a foul committed against Tabitha Fong who had made a forty meter line break. The game ended 12-5 in favour of Singapore who were set to play Japan who had overcome Papua New Guinea in their semifinals. The Bowl Finals proved to be a bridge too far for the team after the battle with the SA Tuks. Singapore's defences were stretched by the Japan's attacking angles and they had to settle for the Bowl runners up.
