The Singapore National Women's 7s Team is set to meet the Arabian Gulf, Tunisia, Guam and recently crowned Rugby World Cup Sevens Champions of 2009, Australia, in their pool in Hong Kong next week.
The 12th annual Hong Kong International Women's 7s will feature ten full international women's sides on 27 March 2009. The other countries includes, Rugby World Cup Sevens 2009 Bowl Winners and finalists, China and Japan, which are pooled with Hong Kong, Thailand and Papua New Guinea.
Women's National Team 7s coach, Gene Tong, admits it will be tough running into Arabian Gulf and Australia, as both have a sound track record against the republic and playing dark horses Tunisia and Guam will not be easy. He is however, targetting a top five finish for this event.
"We've only had a month to assemble and prepare, but being a senior side, the team has been working very hard. Morale is high, and we look forward to improve on previous years standings."
